He said that following the Saturday election, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapaksa and other party leaders had talks with him.<br />'' <br />'' Speaker hopes to have talks with party leaders this week to reach a final decision. PM Wickremesinghe party has agreed to hand over the government to Sri Lanka People's Party(SLPP) led by its leader Mahinda Rajapaksa on the condition that elections be held after February next year.<br />'' <br />'' Prime Minister is expected to meet new President and discuss the modalities.<br />'' <br />'' At least nine ministers have already resigned from the government following the elections. &nbsp;<br />'' <br />'' Meanwhile, Gotabaya Rajapaksa assumed duties as the 7th Executive President at the Presidential Secretariat this morning following religious observances.
