<span style="color: #222222;">Sri Lankan Parliament will discuss the delimitation committee report today even as a ruling coalition and opposition alliance has decided to oppose the report meant for conduct of provincial council elections. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">A government minister said that an all-party meeting today will decide whether the report will be put to vote or not. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The United National Front (UNF) led by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremsinghe in its meeting last evening decided to oppose the report. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Joint opposition led by former President Mahinda Rajapakse has also said it will oppose the report to pave way for early elections. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The group led by President Maithripala Sirisena along with few smaller parties are only left to back the report which was meant to conduct elections under mixed proportional representation system replacing the preferential system earlier. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The report is meant for demarcation of constituencies for elections to provincial councils and was submitted to Parliament during March for approval. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">However, it has not been taken up following the lack of consensus among political parties. Elections to three of the nine councils are due since last year while term of three other councils are coming to an end this year. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Election commission has said it cannot conduct the elections till a law is passed by Parliament. </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />
