Sri Lankan parliament is scheduled to take up a motion expressing confidence in ousted Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe even as MPs supporting Mahinda Rajapaksa continue to boycott the house.
''
'' This motion of confidence is to be presented by the MPs of United National Front (UNF) who claim to have the support of 117 in 225 member parliament. Another motion calling for the President to take future actions in accordance with Article 48 (2) of the Constitution is also to be presented to the Parliament today.
''
'' President Sirisena has repeatedly said that he will not reappoint Mr Wickremsinghe as Prime Minister even if he has the majority. Meanwhile, the decision of the Supreme Court on the dissolution of the parliament is still awaited.
