Sri Lankan Navy rescues 3 Tamil Nadu fishermen stranded in mid sea

Sri Lankan Navy rescued three fishermen from Tamil Nadu stranded in mid sea today. The fishing boat of the fishermen from Pudukottai developed snags and drifted towards Sri Lankan waters.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that Sri Lankan Navy rescued the three fishermen from Pudukottai Jagadapattinam when their boat was stranded in mid sea near Neduntheevu. <br/><br/>For a change, instead of apprehending the fishermen Sri Lankan Navy helped them and guided them to the international maritime boundary line.<br/><br/>The fishermen returned home today morning safely according to Fisheries Authorities. <br/><br/>Sri Lanka had released seventy seven fishermen from Tamil Nadu lodged in Lankan jail last month as goodwill gesture. <br/><br/>Sri Lanka is constantly asking Indian fishermen not to cross the international maritime boundary line. As a deterrent measure Sri Lanka has detained 102 iishing boats of fishermen from Tamil Nadu.
