Sri Lankan Navy today arrested 9 Indian fishermen on charges of poaching in Sri Lankan waters near Kachchativu Island. According to Spokesman of Sri Lanka Navy, Captain Akram Alavi, the fishermen and their trawler have been taken to Karainagar and handed over to the officials of the Fisheries Department. <br/><br/>They will be produced before the local magistrate later in the day for further legal action. Sri Lanka had yesterday decided to release 99 Indian fishermen. But with latest arrests, presently there are 13 Indian fishermen and 92 Indian fishing boats in Sri Lankan custody.
