Sri Lankan Navy apprehended four fishermen from Rameswaram Tamil Nadu when they were fishing near the Delfts Island early morning. The Sri Lankan Navy also detained one fishing boat. Earlier Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take steps for the release of eleven fishermen lodged in Lankan jail. The fishermen from Pudukottai Kottaipattinam had ventured out into the sea for fishing last Sunday midnight. <br/><br/>Four fishermen were apprehended by Sri Lankan Navy near Delfts island. The fishermen have been taken to Kankesanthurai by Sri Lankan Navy according to fishermen sources. <br/><br/>Earlier Sri Lankan Navy arrested seven fishermen from Rameswaram and detained their fishing boat on Monday night. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalaithaa had written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging the immediate release of Tamil fishermen and 91 fishing boats detained by Sri Lanka.
