India today strongly reacted to the killing of a second Indian fisherman in less than a fortnight allegedly by the Sri Lankan Navy. New Delhi today termed it as unacceptable and sought a report in the matter from its mission in Colombo. External Affairs Minister S M Krishna has taken the matter very seriously. Mr Krishna has sought a report from the Indian mission.External affairs ministry has also asked Tamil Nadu Special Department to provide the details regarding the fisherman and the incident. The fisherman was killed and two others were injured while fishing off Kodiakarai coast yesterday.AIR correspondent quoting official sources reports, Sri Lankan High Commissioner in New Delhi has also been spoken to about the incident.Mr. Krishna is also expected to discuss the issue with his Sri Lankan counterpart G L Peiris. On January 12, in an incident of attack on Tamil Nadu fishermen in Palk Straits, one person was killed when Lankan Navy allegedly opened fire. Meanwhile, The Sri Lanka Navy today categorically denied the fresh allegations of any attack and killing of the Indian fisherman on Saturday. Speaking to AIR, Sri Lankan Navy Sri Lankan Navy has no involvement in the incident and that these allegations are baseless.
