An angry mob today pelted stones at the Sri Lankan High Commission this afternoon. According to police, the agitators pelted stones at the premises damaging some articles in the compound. No one has been arrested so far. The agitated people were reportedly protesting against the plight of displaced Tamils in Sri Lanka.<br/>The government has regretted the incident of violence. A group of about 40 people had entered the premises of the High Commission this afternoon and damaged some property. Describing the incident as unfortunate the External Affairs Ministry spokesman said that action as per law will be taken against the perpetrators of the incident.
