The Sita Amman temple at Sita Eliya, which is believed to be the place where Goddess Sita was held captive by Ravan, is one such place where devotees participated in the special pooja. It is notable that a stone from Sita Eliya was sent to Ayodhya to be included in the construction of Ram Temple. Celebrations were held at other temples including Bhakta Hanuman Temple at Rambodha followed by a Procession and Annadaan. In addition, special prayers were held at Saraswathy Hall in Colombo where the Pran Pratishtha programme was viewed through Doordarshan's live broadcast.
