A Sri Lankan court on Wednesday issued a stay order against arresting Gotabaya Rajapaksa, former Defence Secretary and brother of former President Mahinda Rajapakse. The stay order was issued for till December 6th in response to Rajapaksa's petition seeking an order against his arrest. <br/><br/>Mr. Rajapkse was expected to be arrested over the alleged misappropriation of over Rs. 90 million of Government funds for the construction of a memorial for his parents when he was the Defence Secretary. <br/><br/>He is also accused in couple of cases where the investigations have not progressed to the satisfaction of many in government. <br/><br/>The developments assume significance as the factions in Sri Lanka Freedom party (SLFP) led by President Maithripala Sirisena and former President have initiated talks for unity and to face the upcoming polls together.<br/>
