Sri Lankan Army Chief, General Sarath Fonseka has resigned just months after helping to secure the defeat of the Tamil Tiger rebels. According to reports, General Fonseka is reportedly considering challenging President Mahinda Rajapaksa in an election to be held before April. Sources say, his resignation has been accepted by the President.
