Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat against Pakistan in the first of the two T20 international in Hambantota this evening. However, it lost early two wickets, that of skipper Mahela Jayawardene and TM Dilshan. Less than six months after Pakistan and Sri Lanka played a full series in the UAE, they are clashing with each other in the island nation in two T20Is, five ODIs and three Tests over the course of this month and the next. These T 20 matches are of significance as Sri Lanka prepares to host the T 20 World Cup in September this year. Both the T20s will be played in Hambantota, on the southern coast of Sri Lanka, and according to the Sri Lankan Captain Mahela Jayawardene, Sri Lanka will use these two games to find the right combination ahead of the world event.
