Sri Lanka will stand by China and has decided against attending Friday's Nobel Peace Prize award ceremony for jailed Chinese dissident Liu Xiaobo. A spokesperson in the Sri Lankan foreign ministry said that their Ambassador in Oslo has been advised not to participate in the award ceremony. This is being seen as a move to support the Chinese boycott of the event.
