In Sri Lanka, two people were injured in the first major incident of election-related violence before the Presidential polls next Saturday.<br />''<br />'' The incident occurred when security personnel attached to MP  S. B. Dissanayake opened fire at a group of individuals obstructing his convoy in Ginigathhena last evening. The injured persons have been admitted to hospital for treatment as the police is carrying out further investigations into the incident.<br />''<br />''Presidential candidate and former defence secretary tweeted that he is deeply saddened by the incident saying his promise to uphold law and order remain a priority. Mr. Rajapksa said he will not hesitate to take stern action irrespective of rank, title or position. Mr. Dissanayake belongs to Sri Lanka People's Party (SLPP) of which Mr. Rajapaksa is the candidate. The election campaign has largely remained peaceful so far. <br />
