In Sri Lanka, a special parliament session called today to discuss the bond commission report, was adjourned amidst protests by members of the joint opposition. Opposition MPs staged protest when Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe was speaking in Parliament. <br/><br/>The protest over the failure to table the report in Parliament, turned into heated exchanges between ruling party and opposition. Speaker has convened a meeting of party leaders later today to discuss the situation. He also informed the house that the commission report will be submitted to Parliament in a week. <br/><br/>The report, which was handed over to President on December 30th, has castigated former finance minister and central bank governor for loss to the tune of 11 billion rupees to the state. The report has not been released to the public and President Sirisena only issued a statement last week on its main content.
