In Sri Lanka, an all party meeting has been convened on Tuesday to determine a date for the parliamentary debate on the bond commission report.<br/><br/>Several opposition parties had demanded a parliamentary debate on the report holding former finance minister and central bank governor responsible for the scam resulting in loss of around 11 billion rupees. The parliament is scheduled to begin on 23 January for the first time in the new year but some parties had demanded to advance the session to discuss the report.<br/><br/>The Presidential Commission of Inquiry appointed to probe allegations of corruption into the issuance of central bank bond during 2015-16 handed over its final report to the President last week. Local body elections are scheduled for 10th of next month and every party is seeking political mileage out of the report.
