Sathasivam Kanagaratnam, a Tamil parliamentarian from the Vanni district in Sri Lanka who had been detained by the security forces for the last almost eight months has been released by the Sri Lankan government.<br/><br/>The Tamil MP from the pro LTTE Tamil National alliance stayed in the LTTE controlled area till the last days of the war had been detained by the government for questioning.<br/>
