Sri Lanka's presidential candidate Gotabaya Rajapaksa has asserted that any form of extremist terrorism will not be allowed in the country and that he will not let anyone to attempt segregate this sovereign country. <br />''<br />''Speaking at an election meeting on Friday, the former Defence secretary emphasized that this is the reason they had to reject the proposals made by the Tamil political parties. Five Tamil political parties had put up a 13-point memoranda articulating the demands of Tamil minorities including the merger of north and east as well as release of political prisoners.<br />''<br />''Meanwhile, the only Tamil Presidential candidate M.K Sivajilingham has challenged the two main candidates, Sajith Premadasa and Gotabaya Rajapaksa to a debate over issues faced by Tamils. <br />''<br />''Speaking to reporters in Kalmunai today, he said that both candidates have not considered the 13 point demands and that very little has been done in the past to address issues faced by Tamil speaking people in the country. Mr. Sivajilingham said that there cannot be a solution for the Tamils without merging the North and East.
