<span style="color: #222222;">In Sri Lanka, all three parties of Tamil National Alliance (TNA) have announced their support for Presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa for elections scheduled next Saturday. Issuing a statement, &nbsp;TNA leader R. Sampanthan said comparing the record of the previous government of Mahinda Rajapaksa with the current governance and examining the manifestos of the two candidates, the correct course of action would be to support Mr. Premadasa. <br />''<br />''It said the record of another main candidate Mr. Gotabaya Rajapaksa and others in governance with them has been dismal adding that Rajapaksa Government abandoned talks with regard to a political solution to the national question, thereby failing to promote unity amongst all the people.&nbsp;<br />''<br />''The statement said the previous government also failed to keep its commitments domestically and to international community to take further steps to constitutionally enhance and make more meaningful the sharing of the powers of governance. The statement was signed by Illankai Thamil Arasu Katchi (ITAK), Tamil Eelam Liberation Organization (TELO) and &nbsp;People's Liberation Organization of Tamil Eelam (PLOTE). The other two Tamil parties led by former chief minister C. Wigneswaran and Suresh Premachandran have decided not to support any candidate. Tamil-dominated northern province has a vote base of around 8 lakhs and its support can be crucial in the results.&nbsp;</span><br />
