Sri Lanka polls: Tamil parties not to favour any particular candidate

<span style="color: #333333;">In Sri Lanka, a meeting of Tamil parties today decided not to favour any particular candidate for the postal voting to be held tomorrow for the Presidential elections. <br />''<br />''Leader of Eelam People's Revolutionary Liberation Front (EPRLF) Suresh Premachandran told our AIR correspondent that since election manifesto of one of the main candidates and minister Sajith Premadasa has not been declared, they could not reach any decision for their support for elections scheduled for November 16th.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #333333;"> <br />'' The meeting was called in Jaffna by a group of five Tamil parties to declare support based on their 13 point memoranda containing demands of Tamil minorities. It notes the acceptance of the political aspirations of Tamils, the merger of  Northern and Eastern Provinces and realisation of the fact that the Tamil People under the provisions of international law are entitled to the right of self-determination. Meanwhile, nearly six lakh voters will start exercising their franchise during postal voting to begin tomorrow. </span><br />''                                    <br />
