Sri Lanka: NDF Presidential candidate releases his election manifesto

<span style="color: #222222;">In Sri Lanka, Presidential candidate of New Democratic Front (NDF) Sajith Premadasa today released his election manifesto saying that he will review all bilateral agreements once he assumes duties as the new President. Mr. Premadasa said that he is not bound by any agreement signed before 16 November and he will look to amend if he feels any agreement is a threat to Sri Lanka's sovereignty.<br />''<br />'' Prime Minister Ranil Wickremsinghe and several ministers were present at the manifesto launch in Kandy. The manifesto assures devolution of powers to the provinces, a foreign policy where relations with all countries will be respected and a consistent trade policy.<br />''<br />'' State Minister Eran Wickramaratne said the three most important pillars of election manifesto includes a strong nation, a competitive economy and a just society. He stated that there are three things that they need to put a stop to and that those things are drugs, corruption and religious extremism. He also said that they plan to include the preschool system into the free education system currently in place in Sri Lanka. Mr. Premadasa main rival and former defence secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa has already released his manifesto giving priority to improving the economy and protecting national security.</span><br />
