Sri Lanka Navy arrests two Indian nationals

Sri Lanka Navy has arrested two Indian nationals on alleged charges of attempting to smuggle in a stock of heroin and illegal tobacco products. <br/><br/>A navy statement issued on Saturday said that based on information received from naval patrol, the arrests were made on a small boat in east of Mannar on Friday. <br/><br/>It was not immediately clear whether the arrested personnel are fishermen. <br/><br/>Sri Lankan navy has been arresting Indian fishermen from southern states on charges of poaching into their waters but these sort of arrests on drug peddling are very rare. The arrested persons have been handed over to the Thalaimannar Police for onward action.
