Sri Lanka Navy today arrested 16 Indian fishermen in two separate incidents on charges of poaching into their waters. The navy said in a statement that eight fishermen in two batches were arrested along with their boats in the seas northwest of Analathivu Island off Jaffna and north of Mannar. <br/><br/>They have been handed over to fisheries department for further investigations. The arrests come few days after ten fishermen were arrested on similar charges. Fishing has been a contentious issue between the two sides.
