Sri Lankan parliament has unanimously passed a law that makes it mandatory for putting graphic warning on cigarette packs.The move is part of the three regulations passed under the National Authority on Tobacco and Alcohol Act to discourage smoking in the country.Minister of Health Maithripala Sirisena presenting the motion said that the number of cancer patients in the country is on the increase and annual death toll due to smoking amounts to about 20,000 persons.
