Sri Lanka: Interim order against bail granted to Police Chief Pujith Jayasundara, ex-Defence Secy Hemasiri Fernando

<span style="color: #222222;">In Sri Lanka, the Colombo High Court today issued an interim order against the granting of bail to police chief Pujith Jayasundara and former Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando by a magistrate court. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The interim order came on a revision application filed by country's Attorney General before the High Court against the order granting bail to the duo, who were arrested for their failure to prevent the Easter Sunday attacks. </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' The Attorney General had pressed charges of murder against both of them for their negligence in acting on intelligence inputs, but their claim was rejected by magistrate court. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Earlier, both officials were arrested from hospitals after they failed to appear before the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Hemasiri Fernando was removed after the Easter attacks whereas the police chief has been sent on  compulsory leave, for which he has approached the Supreme Court.</span><br />''
