Sri Lanka govt restructures entire system to strengthen intelligence apparatus and national security

<span style="color: #222222;">Sri Lankan government has said it has taken steps to restructure and streamline the entire system in order to strengthen the intelligence apparatus and national security after the Easter Sunday attacks. The Ministry of Defense, in a special communiqué, explained the multiple security measures that have been taken to ensure public safety and protect the sovereignty of the country following the attacks which killed over 250 people including 45 foreigners. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">It said the Ministry has identified seven factors, which are key to good governance, public safety & security and national security, adding it has taken necessary steps to set the right channels of communication with the respective Ministries that fall on to each of the key factors.  </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The statement asserted that threat levels have been addressed, but noted that they are faced with battling a non-traditional form of terrorism, which continues to be a global threat. Sri Lanka Government has faced criticism for its failure to act on intelligence inputs about the attacks.</span><br />
