Sri Lanka has assured India that it is committed to the political settlement of the ethnic problem in the island nation. Sri Lankan Foreign Minister G.L. Peiris met his Indian counterpart S.M. Krishna in Thimpu and said, his country wants an expeditious resettlement of the Tamil Problem with dignity. Meanwhile, Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa will hold bilateral discussions with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the sidelines of the SAARC summit beginning today.
