<span style="color: #222222;">In Sri Lanka, a countrywide strike by state doctors' union launched today has seriously affected health services in the country. Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA) launched the 24-hour token strike making 10 demands including enhancement in allowances and providing them more facilities. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The union has also demanded revision of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with Singapore and reduction of high taxation upon medical officers and private hospitals. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Local media reported that patients are severely inconvenienced and non-emergency services at most government hospitals throughout the country have been affected due to the strike. </span><br />'' <br />'' <br />
