Sri Lanka defeat Pakistan by 2 wickets in second Cricket ODI at Dubai

Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan by 2 wickets in the second Cricket ODI at Dubai on Friday night, to level the 5-match series, 1-1. Put in to bat, Pakistan made 284 for 4 in the alloted 50 overs. Opener Ahmed Shehzad top scored with a brilliant 124. Skipper Misbah-ul-Haq shared crucial partnerships — first with Shehzad of 105 runs for the 4th wicket and, at the end of the innings with Afridi of 51 runs for the 5th wicket — helping his side to post a formidable total.In reply, Sri Lanka overhauled the target with just two balls to spare. The third wicket stand of 94 runs between wicket keeper Kumara Sangakkara and Dinesh Chandimal laid the foundation of the superb chase. Later, it was Skipper Angelo Mathews, who with partnerships Nuwan Kulasekara and Dimuth Karunaratne, anchored his side in leveling the series. Mathews was adjudged man of the match.The third Odi will be played tomorrow at Sharjah.
