Sri Lanka beat England by 9 wickets in a pool A match of the Cricket world Cup at Wellington today. Earlier, after winning the toss England decided to bat first. Riding on Joe Root's 121 England posted 309 for 6 in the stipulated 50 overs. The Lankan's reached the target in just 47.2 overs losing just one wicket. Unbeaten centuries from Thirimanne (139) and Sangakkara (117) helped Sri Lanka fisnish the match with 16 balls remaining.In another match of Group -B Pakistan were at 206 for 6 in 46 overs against Zimbabwe when reports last came in. Opting to bat, Pakistan lost early wickets as both the openers feel cheaply. However, Misbahul Haq and Umar Akmal steadied the Pakistani innings. This is a must win match for Pakistan as it decides future course of the team towards the knock out stage.
