Nearly 500 Indian expatriates in Sri Lanka gathered at India House to celebrate the 65th Independence Day. Amidst a small but impressive parade by the BSF contingent along with Sri Lankan Navy Band, the Indian High Commissioner in Sri Lanka, Ashok K Kantha unfurled the Indian Flag. The speech of the President Pratbha Devisingh Patil was read out to the Indian expatriate community gathered at India House.
