Sri Lanka 154/5 at stumps on Day 2 of Test match against India

In the Galle cricket Test, Sri Lanka were struggling at 154 for 5 against India at stumps on the second day after the visitors reached a mammoth first innings score of 600. India began the day at a solid 399 for three and added 201 runs to their overnight total. Shikhar Dhawan with 190, Cheteshwar Pujara's 153 and Hardik Pandeya's maiden 49 ball Test 50 were the cornerstone of the gigantic total. For Sri Lanka, Nuwan Pradeep claimed 6 wickets, while three wickets were taken by Lahiru Kumara. Mohammed Shami with 2 for 30 was the most successful bowler for India today. Umesh Yadav struck the early blow while another wicket was claimed by Ravichandran Aswhin. Abhinav Mukund's alertness in the field contributed to a run-out of opener Upul Tharanga who scored his eighth Test half century. Sri Lanka need another 246 runs to avoid a follow-on with former skipper Angelo Mathews batting on 54.
