Delhi has witnessed spurt in Dengue cases registering over 600 cases in last one week. According to official data, so far this year, 1872 cases have been reported from various parts of the city. In the wake of the rising cases, the Union Health Minister J P Nadda today reviewed the situation at a high level meeting in New Delhi.<br/><br/>Talking exclusively to AIR, Mr Nadda said, he has asked the Central government hospitals as well as Delhi government to augment number of beds to accommodate more dengue patients.He said, Delhi Health Minister Satyender Jain has also been asked to ensure action against private hospitals indulging in overcharging. Mr Nadda also said, there is no need to panic as all arrangements are in place to deal with the situation. <br/><br/>The Centre has assured the States to provide all technical assistance to fight dengue menace. Union Health Ministry has issued 12 advisories so far to all the Chief Ministers to tackle the rise in dengue cases. Meanwhile Delhi government has directed its hospitals to open Fever Clinics at their premises to detect the disease. Besides, the city government has also ordered its Health Department to purchase 1000 beds to tackle the increasing number of patients.Hospitals have also been asked not to refuse admission to patients.
