In Punjab , thirteen people lost their lives after consuming spurious liquor in Hoshiarpur District on Wednesday last night. The numbers of deaths are likely to go up. Twenty five people have been admitted in a government hospital. Condition of some of them is reported to be serious.Deputy Commissioner, Hoshiarpur, Dharam Dutt Tarnaich told AIR correspondent that police and the District administration are investigating the matter. Police has registered a case and two persons have been arrested. Mr. Tarnaich, on the directions of the Chief Minister, has announced an ex-gratia payment of fifty thousand rupees each to the next of kin of those who have died.
