Spurious liquor claim 12 lives in Pak

In Pakistan, at least 12 people have died after consuming spurious locally-made liquor in the eastern Punjab province. Regional police officer Ijaz on Monday said scores of people consumed tainted liquor at marriage ceremonies at two different places in Multan. <br/><br/>Five people died at the scene and seven others later died at hospital. Several affected people said that they had bought liquor from a local dealer. Police raided several places but could not arrest anyone as they had already fled. Drinking liquor is banned in Pakistan.
