Sportsman dies after allegedly being pushed off train in UP, probe orderd

In Uttar Pradesh, a national level fencing player died ?after being allegedly thrown out of a moving train by Government Railway Policemen for not paying bribe.? The incident had occurred in? the Kasganj district on Thursday afternoon. According to reports, the deceased Hoshiyar Singh was travelling in the Kasganj – Mathura passenger train along with his wife Jyoti, his son and his mother.? <br/><br/>While his family was travelling in the Ladies coach, he was sitting in the general coach adjacent to it. According to reports, Jyoti was not well and Hoshiyar went to attend her when the train stopped at the Sikandra Raut railway station.? Finding him in ladies coach the GRP personnel allegedly demanded a fine of Rs. 200, which he refused to pay and requested the policemen that he would get off the boggy when the train would stop at the next station. However, police personnel allegedly had a scuffle with him and in the process threw him off the running train.Hoshiyar was rushed to the Kasganj district hospital where he was declared brought dead.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that irked by the incident, the passengers gherao railway and the GRP staff demanding strict action against the cops in Kasganj. An FIR was registered at the Kasganj GRP police station and the cops were reported to be absconding ?when the reports last came in. A native of Mathura, Hoshiyar won a bronze medal in the under – 17 national fencing championship in 2005. He was returning back to Mathura after performing his son's `Mundan' ceremony in Kasganj. Hoshiyar Singh's family has demanded a case of murder to be registered against the policemen, who claimed? that the athlete slipped and fell.?

Centre has ordered a probe into an incident in Uttar Pradesh where a sportsman died yesterday after he was reportedly thrown out of a train by Railway Police. <br/><br/>Talking to reporters outside Parliament today, Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha said a team of senior officers has been rushed to the area to take stock of the situation. He said an effective action will be taken into the incident once the report is available.The sportsman was travelling with his family from Kasganj to Mathura when the incident took place.
