Sports ministry to examine rescheduling of cricket matches

Sports ministry says it will examine the request of the Common Wealth Games Organising Committee chairman seeking rescheduling of the cricket matches. The two test matches are scheduled to be played between India and Australia between October 2 and 24. Official sources said that the ministers office has received the letter written by the organising committee chief Suresh Kalmadi. The letter urges sports minister Dr. MS Gill's help to convince the BCCI in this regard. As per the itinerary released by the BCCI last month, Ricky Ponting's men will play two Tests and three one-day internationals in India, which clashes with the Commonwealth Games.
