Sports Ministry seeks report on Indian Hockey coach's resignation

The Sports Ministry has sought a report from the Sports Authority of India and Secretary Sports on the sudden resignation of India's Chief Hockey coach, Terry Walsh. Sports Minister Sarbanada Sonowal said in New Delhi that it is a serious issue, and he has asked SAI Director General and Secretary Sports to explain the cause of the resignation within 24 hours.Walsh, who guided India to a historic gold at the Incheon Asian Games, quit his post in a dramatic fashion yesterday, saying that he was finding it difficult to adjust to the decision making style of the sporting bureaucracy in the country.SAI Director General Jiji Thomson said, Walsh's resignation has been accepted. He said that the Australian never complained to them about any issue.
