The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has sanctioned 4.50 crore rupees to Government of Haryana for laying of artificial turf for football at Dariyapur, Fatehabad district under Urban Sports Infrastructure Scheme (USIS). An official release said, the scheme aims at construction of synthetic playing surface or hockey, football and athletics and multi-purpose indoor hall. State Governments, local civic bodies, schools, colleges and universities under central, state governments and sports control boards are eligible to receive financial assistance under this scheme. The central scheme, USIS is being implemented by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports on a pilot basis with effect from the year 2010-11.
