Sports ministry sanctions over Rs. 2.50 cr in last 2 months to Sikkim

Sports ministry has sanctioned over 2.50 crore rupees in the last two months to Sikkim for the maintenance of playfields and payment of honorarium to Kridashrees in the village panchayats and block panchayats under the Panchayat Yuva Krida Aur Khel Abhiyan (PYKKA).This amount has been given for 70 village panchayats and 35 block panchayats in the state. Our correspondent reports that with this a total grant of around seven crore rupees has so far been sanctioned to the state for development and maintenance of playfields. The PYKKA scheme aims at development and maintenance of playfields in village and block panchayats across the country and organizing annual sports competitions.
