The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has released an amount of more than seventeen lakh rupees to Goa for development and maintenance of playfields in village panchayats and block panchayats. The Central assistance sanctioned under the scheme Panchayat Yuva Krida Aur Khel Abhiyan, PYKKA, is for procurement of sports consumables and maintenance of playfields. It is also meant for payment of honorarium to Kridashrees and conducting annual sports competitions.
