The Youth Affairs and Sports Ministry has released over 6 thousand 801 crore rupees under various sports development schemes in the last five years. Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Anurag Thakur said this in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today.

Mr. Thakur said, his ministry is running various schemes for the development of sports in the country, including at the village level. He added, the ministry has released over 6 thousand 801crore rupees as per scheme-wise in five years, out of allocated amount over 7 thousand 72 crore for various sports development schemes.
