Sports Ministry has approved five lakh rupees from the National Welfare Fund For Sportspersons for former heavyweight boxer Kaur Singh. In a tweet, Sports Minister Col Rajyavardhan Rathore said, he came to know about the Padma Shree and Arjuna Awardee boxer struggling with treatment for heart disease. He said, Mr Kaur Singh kept the head of India high and today India will not let his head bend.Besides winning a gold medal in the Asian games held in New Delhi in 1982, Kaur Singh had also won two gold medals one each in Kings cup and Asian championships.The sports veteran is admitted at a private hospital in Mohali for nearly a month.
