Union Sports minister Sarbananda Sonowal today reviewed preparations for the South Asian Federation Games (SAF) 2016 with representatives of the two host states, Assam and Meghlalaya in Guwahati.Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and top officials of both the state governments along with Sports Ministry were present at the meeting.Talking to reporters later Mr Sonowal said that all agencies are working in tandem to ensure a successful SAF Games.He also assured that all events of the SAF Games would be held in the two host states itself.The Assam Chief Minister said the state was fully geared up for the Games and the infrastructure developed during 2007 National Games in Guwahati has enabled the state to successfully bid for the SAF Games. The SAF Games will be held in Guwahati and Shillong from 6 February to 16 February next year.
