The Union Minister for Sports and Youth welfare (Independent) Sarbananda Sonowal today said that the Congress led Assam government has failed to prevent rhino poaching. Talking to newspersons at Kaziranga, the minister said that the BJP is committed to prevent poaching and centre will ensure safety of the wild animals. The minister also said that he will draw the attention of the Union Environment minister to ensure security of the park. Sonowal alleged that poachers killed 1060 rhinos during last 13 years. The Assam BJP held a party meeting today at Kaziranga today to give a strong message against rampant poaching at the Kaziranga.
