Sporting eye first win in I-League against AI

Yet to register their first victory in I-League, Sporting Clube dew Goa would be looking to change their fortune when they take on Air India in the rescheduled first round encounter at Nehru stadium, Margao on Monday.Nothing has changed for the flaming orange even after replacing Roy Barretto with Vishwas Gaonkar, as the team is languishing at the bottom of the tally with just five points from 12 matches.Sporting has often struggled in the upfront which has been their main concern and the absence of striker Nathaniel Amos — out due to hamstring injuries — will only add salt to their wound.Young Anthony Fernandes will now have to take up the challenge in his absence. On the other hand, the Airmen are also struggling with injury woes.Air India are another side that is fighting for survival. Six points from their last three matches have lifted them to the 11th place with 11 points from 12 matches.Yusif Ibrahim has replaced injured Bimal Ghosh, while defender Ravinder Singh and Opera will not play tomorrow due to injuries.Air India will also miss the service of Khelong, who will be out due to double bookings.Yusif said they would fire in unison to win tomorrow's match, which will help them avoid relegation."We are looking a bit tired and the injuries have been the factors which we will have to overcome tomorrow against Sporting. They are looking for their first win," Yusif said."We are looking to end the first phase on a winning note, which will help us to stay above the relegation zone," said Yusif.
