In Leh, for the first time a civil airliner has started dedicated freighter services to Leh. The freight flights are expected to fulfill the demands of Cargo supplies, when Ladakh gets cut off from the rest of the country during the winter months. Ladakh Member of Parliament Jamyang Tsering Namgyal received the first cargo flight, by Spicejet, with 13 tonnes of civilian cargo, at Kushak Bakula Rinpoche Airport in Leh.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Mr Jamyang said that the beginning of cargo flights in Leh will improve the connectivity and availability of essential items even in harsh winter seasons when the national highways are blocked and Ladakh is cut-off from the rest of the country. He said, this will help in ensuring the supply chain during winters and will give a boost to local business community of Ladakh. He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for special focus on Ladakh and Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and SpiceJet management for considering cargo services to Leh.</span><br />
