He assured that the radiation levels in these fuels are very low and they are being stored to be used at a later stage.<br />''<br />''Replying to a question raised by the DMK member S. Gnanathiraviam of Tirunelveli constituency in Tamil Nadu, during the question hour today in Lok Sabha, Minister also said that storing of the spent fuel in-house was as per the two agreements signed in 1988 and 1998. Minister also said that the in-house facility to store spent fuels located in the Kudankulam Nuclear reactor will reach its capacity by the year 2022.<br />''<br />''Hence the need arose for constructing  'Away From Reactor' ,AFR spent fuel storage facility for Kudankulam units 1 and 2. The Minister said that the AFR facility has been completed, and currently it is in  the process of obtaining environmental clearance.<br />''<br />''He also requested the members to create a mass awareness on the safety of the plants.<br />''<br />''Minister also clarified that the recent cyber attack in Kudankulam Nuclear Power plant was only in the administrative block of the plant.  <br />''The Minister assured that the computers placed to control the reactors were free from any attack, and they are protected with new mechanism and hardened sites.</span><br />
