<span style="color: #222222;">A Parliamentary panel noted that the teachers appointed for Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRSs) by the States are not in accordance with a uniform criteria for the appointment of teachers for schools despite the existence of the Scheme since 1997-98. The government did not have control over these schools except for giving grant to the States to establish EMRSs. Standing Committee on Social Justice and Empowerment headed by Mrs. Rama Devi tabled its report in Parliament on Friday.<br />''     <br />''The Committee have now been informed that a recruitment advertisement have been released for a total of 3400 vacancies across 16 States and Union Territories. The criteria for recruitment formulated on the pattern of Kendriya Vidyalayas and Navodaya Vidyalayas and that the National testing Agency is to conduct national level EMRS-Teaching Staff Selection Examination. However, recruitment process is on hold due to non-notification of Recruitment Rules by majority States and Union Territories.<br />''     <br />''The Committee felt that had this decision been taken by the Government back when EMRS came into existence, the schools could have achieved a uniform standard of education across the Country. The Committee found that the matter is still at a standstill as they have not been able to advertise vacancies of teachers for all the States and Union Territories as Recruitment Rules framed by National Education Society for Tribal Students have not been notified by the States and EMRS societies established across States and Union Territories. Unless all the States are brought on board, the recruitment of teachers would continue to suffer.<br />''     <br />''The Committee recommended that all formalities must now be completed and the examinations for the vacancies advertised should be held at the earliest without waiting for States and Union Territories who have not notified Recruitment Rules and teachers recruited following State specific reservation Roster so that they are adequately trained before posting.<br />''   <br />''The Committee asked the Ministry to take all necessary action for the recruitment of non-teaching staff too for efficient management of EMRS. </span><br />
