<span style="color: #222222;">Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad today announced that spectrum auction will be done within the current financial year and promised reforms in spectrum pricing.&nbsp; Mr. Prasad said the government is aware about some problems and challenges being faced by the telecom industry. Addressing the India Mobile Congress 2019 in New Delhi, Mr Prasad said, 5G is the order of the day as the government has given permission to companies for 5G trials.<br />'' <br />'' The Minister said the government wants to develop India as &nbsp;a major data economy of the world at the same time it does not wish to compromise on data sovereignty of the country. He said, the way rural India has adopted digital technology is really very assuring and aspirational rural India is driving business and growth in digital technology as well.<br />'' <br />'' He said, the country had just two mobile phone factories in 2014 but today it has become the second-largest producer of mobile phones. Mr. Prsad also said the manufacturing of telecom equipment in India is also an essential component of growth in the electronics sector and urged investors to invest in telecom equipment manufacturing.&nbsp;</span><br />
